Joel Grunau has been working as a research assistant at HARTE-BAVENDAMM since 2025. He specialises in intellectual property law, particularly competition and trademark law.

Joel previously studied law at the University of Münster. During his studies, he completed an additional course in international law and certificate courses in intellectual property law as well as information law, telecommunication law and media law. He also worked in competition law at an institution promoting fair competition in the economy.

Since passing his first state examination, Joel has been a doctoral candidate at Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg, working on a dissertation in the field of trademark law.
