Michael Wittlinger is working as an attorney at HARTE-BAVENDAMM since 2023.

He specialises in dispute resolution and litigation in all areas of intellectual property law, primarily in unfair competition law and trademark law. In addition, he regularly assists clients in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the German and European trademark offices and appeal courts.

Michael also advises on legal issues at the interface of intellectual property and antitrust law, in particular on the drafting of distribution agreements and systems as well as licence agreements.

Michael studied law at the LMU Munich. During his studies, he also completed a certificate programme in Legal Informatics & Information Law and spent a semester abroad at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.

After his first state examination, Michael also completed his doctorate at the LMU Munich on a topic at the interface of competition law and international procedural law. He then obtained a Master's degree (LL.M.) at the University of Glasgow in Scotland, specialising in European, American and Chinese antitrust law.

Michael then completed his legal clerkship at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Hamburg with stations at the regional court there in chambers for trade mark, competition and antitrust law, in the legal department of an international energy technology company, at the Federal Cartel Office and at HARTE-BAVENDAMM.
