Marion Jacob advises and represents clients in the field of intellectual property with a focus on trademark law. She provides comprehensive advice, from the introduction and registration of new marks through to their enforcement in national and cross-border disputes. She represents her clients in all relevant proceedings, particularly before the German and European Trademark offices, the WIPO, the German Patent Court and the European Courts. She is highly experienced in the strategic management of large international portfolios, in trademark clearances and in negotiating and drafting contracts such as prior rights agreements. Further, she has special expertise in non-registered rights such as so-called work title rights.
Marion Jacob studied the law at the Leibniz University in Hanover and, both there and at the Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Great Britain, obtained the Master of Laws (LL. M.). She made her traineeship at the Court of Appeals in Celle and was admitted to the bar in 2005.
Before joining HARTE-BAVENDAMM Rechtsanwälte in 2013 as a partner, Marion Jacob has worked with the US law firm WHITE & CASE LLP for eight years.
Marion Jacob is, among others, co-author of the chapter on trademark law in the Münchener Prozessformularbuch, Gewerblicher Rechtsschutz, Urheber- und Presserecht (edited by Prof. Dr. Peter Mes, 4th edition 2014). Both LEGAL 500 and JUVE mention her as one of the frequently recommended lawyers in trademark law.
She is a member of the German Association for Intellectual Property and Copyright (GRUR) and of MARQUES. She is fluent in German and English.
